Conservative legislator Chris Skidmore wants Britain to put on a state funeral if remains of a body found beneath a car park are found to be those of the Richard Plantagenet, a so called king who died in 1485. Skidmore told the news media that this was warranted despite Plantagenet’s reputation for wickedness because he was the last English king to die on a battlefield.
DNA from the remains is being tested against that of Michael Ibsen, a descendent of the “king”. Unlike his ancestor Mr. Ibsen makes an honest living, as a cabinet maker.
