Charles Windsor, who is to be Britain’s next hereditary head of state is a “snake-oil salesman” according medical expert Edzard Ernst. The professor was referring to Mr. Windsor’s support for alternative medicine.
Professor Ernst also described “herbal detox tinctures” sold under Windsor’s “Duchy Originals” brand as “Dodgy Originals”.
Such outspoken public criticism of a member of the Windsor clan is unusual. Prof. Ernst says that previous criticism of Windsor resulted in pressure on the Peninsula Medical School where he works. He had volunteered for retirement from his full-time position there in order to ensure the survival of his faculty.
