State Church To Leech Off The Taxpayer

The state church is to continue to own shares in Amazon even though its chief bishop has accused the company of “leeching off the taxpayer”.

Justin Welby made the statement in a speech to the Trades Union Congress.

However, an official Church of England statement said that it would be keeping its shares. According to the BBC the Church earned 18.6% on its global equities in 2017.

Welby has in the past criticised zero hours contracts although his organisation employs people on such contracts.

The Anglican cleric likes to present himself as a moral beacon although he seems to have no qualms about the way his church corrupts democracy by appointing legislators to sit in the House of Lords.
