£2.8m Annual Pay Rise for Queen Windsor

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

Britain’s feudal head of state Queen Windsor is set to receive a pay rise of £2.8m in 2017.

The huge increase is the result of a shameful 2015 decision by Parliament to give Windsor 15% of the profits of the Crown Estate.

Because the Estate’s profits have increased to £304m Windsor will be paid £45.6m next year.

Under the law the percentage given to Windsor can be changed only by agreement of the prime minister, the chancellor of the exchequer and Windsor’s chief financial officer.

The amount can never be lower than the amount paid the previous year. Parliament is not allowed to debate any change.
