May Make Daughter-in-Law Duchess of Irish Province

It seems that queen Windsor may not have noticed that most of Ireland freed itself from her rule 69 years ago.

According to news media reports she intends to give her new daughter-in-law the feudal title of Duchess of Connaught.

Connaught is a province in the west of Ireland. It has not been a part of queen Windsor’s kingdom since 1949.

There was first a duke of Connaught in 1874 but the titles of duke and duchess of Connaught have not been used for seventy years during which time most of Ireland has been free from monarchy.
