BBC Gives Up Pretence

The BBC has given up all pretence of political impartiality and has made itself a definite part of the systematic state discrimination against republicans in Britain in again celebrating the feudal institution of monarchy.

The state-sponsored broadcaster has announced a “celebration season” to mark the sixty years in which Liz Windsor has been Britain’s unchallengeable feudal head of state. In a direct refutation of republican beliefs it has described this as a celebration of “all that is great about Britain“.

Adding injury to insult the state-protected media giant will insist that everybody in Britain who watches television in any form make a financial contribution to its celebration by paying the licence fee that it requires before giving Britons permission to watch TV.

Republic Chief Executive Officer Graham Smith commented that “As a public broadcaster the BBC has a duty to report and inform in an impartial and balanced way.  What it must not do is celebrate a political institution that is opposed by millions of British voters”. Republic has called for a protest against the BBC outside its Portland Place HQ at 11 a.m. on 11 May.
