Monarch’s Daughter To Be Questioned On Fraud

Print Friendly, PDF & Email

The daughter of the Spanish monarch has been named by a judge as a suspect in a fraud investigation. Christina de Borbon is to be questioned on 27 April as a part of an investigation into alleged embezzlement of public funds by her husband. This is the first time such a thing has happened to a member by birth of the monarchical family since monarchy was re-established in Spain forty years ago.

Ms. de Borbon goes by the fairytale title of “princess” under Spain’s feudal system. Her questioning adds to scandals that have reduced approval of her father to 50 per cent.
