Beatrix Armgard has decided that the Netherlands should have a new head of state. It will be her son. The people of that country have no say in this.
Armgard’s son will take her place after she has held the job for 33 years
The people of the Netherlands pay £26m annually to support the head of state over whom they have no control. Armgard is said to be privately wealthy, although the supposed personal wealth of monarchs has most often been obtained through the unwarranted privileges given to or taken by them.
The Netherlands has been a monarchy for 200 years.
Armgard’s husband was a member of the Hitler Youth when a teenager.
