Tax Voluntary Claims Windsor

Shortly after Starbucks offered to make voluntary tax payments to counter criticism of its low tax returns, Charles Windsor has repeated his claim that tax is voluntary for him because of the supposedly superior genes on which he bases his claim to be “royal”.

Windsor is refusing to pay corporation tax on income from the Duchy of Cornwall from which he takes as much as £18m annually. He says that because he voluntarily pays income tax on this income, the Duchy need not pay corporation take like other businesses. Income tax is obligatory for British citizens other than Windsors when their income reaches £8.000.

The Duchy of Cornwall consists of 53,628 hectares of land mostly in south west England. In 2011 an information freedom tribunal, ruling on whether the Duchy is a public body, declared that Mr. Windsor’s strange job of son of the head of state was “an extremely important constitutional role”!
