Australian Police Attack Free Speech

The Australian new site Perth Now has revealed that Australian police are spying on republicans ahead of a Windsor family visit to that country in October.

State security police drove 270km to question republican Mark Tomkinson after he joked on his blog about dropping green paint on Kate Middleton when she married a leading Windsor family member recently.

Western Australia Police Union president Russell Armstrong was reported to have said “The security of these people (the Windsors) is the utmost (importance). If anyone had any idea of doing or saying stupid things, they’d have to be very careful and watch over their shoulder because we’ll be listening and watching.”

Mr. Tomkinson called the police visit “intimidation.” He told Perth Now that that it was a “disgrace”, “un-Australian” and an attack on the right of free speech.

Britain’s hereditary head of state Elizabeth Windsor and her notorious husband are due to visit Australia for a Commonwealth Heads of Government get together.
